Sunday Worship 10:00am & 6:00pm

at Newtown Baptist Church, Berkhampstead Road, Chesham, HP5 3AT

What to Expect

Our Sunday worship meetings are open to everyone, so you don’t have to book ahead or tell anyone you’re coming. There’s no dress-code – please just come as you are. We have no set or reserved seats – you’re welcome to sit wherever, and with whomever, you like.

We meet at 10 am and 6 pm each week. In a typical meeting we seek to worship God as we sing a mixture of hymns and songs (old and new), read the Bible, pray, and listen to God’s Word being preached. If you don’t have a Bible you’re welcome to use one of our church Bibles – the translation we tend to use is the New International Version. Twice a month, we celebrate the Lord’s Supper at the end of the morning or evening service – if you wish to participate, please speak to one of the elders beforehand.

We welcome children in our worship meetings.  Every Sunday morning we run a group called Treasure Hunters, for those in Year 5 and under, during the second half of the service. Our volunteers have all been cleared and have DBS certificates.  But children are welcome to stay through the service, and the lobby is available if anyone needs to take their child out.  The Bible Class group (for Years 6-13) meets after the morning meeting.

Tea and coffee are provided after every Sunday morning meeting (except the first Sunday of the month, when we celebrate the Lord’s Supper).

We have a hearing loop for those using hearing aids.  The building is wheelchair-accessible.  We have several toilets within the building, including one adapted for disabled visitors.
